ABOUT THIS SCHOLARSHIP
AFS New Zealand is offering scholarships for Pacific Island students to take up the challenge to live and study overseas. Scholarships are valued at $10,000 for a year programme or cover the full exchange programme fee for a semester programme.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
To be eligible for this scholarship students must:
* be of Pacific descent and demonstrate that they, their parent(s), grandparent(s), or great-grandparent(s) were born in, and have blood ties to, a Pacific Island nation
* demonstrate involvement in Pacific Island culture and / or language
* participate in an AFS year or semester programme
HOW TO APPLY
* be selected for an exchange and complete the AFS Scholarship Application Form as part of the AFS application
* demonstrate Pacific genealogy by providing a copy of your birth certificate and / or the birth certificate of their parent(s), grandparent(s), or great-grandparent(s) who were born in the Pacific
* write a 200 word statement describing your involvement with Pacific Island culture and / or language
* demonstarte a need for financial assistance and complete a 200 word statement on “Why I need an AFS Scholarship”
